Delurk! Delurk!

It’s National Delurking Week. Yeah, I didn’t know either. But, thanks to Mother Reader, I am now informed (she’s so good at that). And in the spirit of the whole thing, I’d love it if you left me a comment. Either here, or somewhere else on the blog. (C’mon Dad, now’s your chance!) (Same for all you feed readers!)

In fact, let me give you something to comment about: what are you reading right now? Is it any good?

  1. I need to get all my “lurkers” out in the open, too! 🙂 I’m reading a few books right now, none of them stellar. I just checked out several from the library, though, that have me excited (including The Graveyard Book).

  2. I don’t really need to delurk, I comment anyway, but hi! I just finished the Maus graphic novels and I have moved on to a book by Elizabeth Haydon. I can’t remember the title because I fell asleep reading it last night. lol I woke up in the middle of the night and my book was safely on the dresser, but I wish they would have been so kind to take my glasses off!

  3. Hello! I’m reading The Remarkable and Very True Story of Lucy and Snowcap by H.M. Bouwman (Marshall Cavendish, 2008). Also a slew of Cybils finalists–one new (to me) book in each category. Those are posted on my blog! How about you??

  4. I’m not sure if I count as a lurker, stalker maybe but not lurker:) I enjoy you’re blog and appreciate your reviews. I am reading “It’s Superman” by Tom DeHaven because I am between classes and this is as deep a read as I can handle right now.

  6. Anamaria: I’m trying to drop in on the Cybils finalists… I don’t know if I’ll get to them before they’re awarded. I just finished one book, review trying to be written, and am trying to figure out what to delve into next. Tour book that needs to be done by next week? Or YA fantasy? Hmm…Kylee: I’ve had people recommend that one to me. Maybe I’ll pass. Marg: those sound interesting. Thanks about the byline. DouglasandMain: all in good humor. 😉 I can understand about deep reads. Amira: when’s the last time you commented??!? Glad to see you here.Stacey: I NEED to get to Graveyard Book. Soon.

  7. I’m not a lurker. But I’m happy to say hi. I’m reading <>The Knife of Never Letting Go<>. I’m finding it compelling, but I’m reserving judgment on whether I like it or not until I finish (based on what I’ve seen in the other reviews). I’m listening to <>Rumors<>, the second Luxe book, and that’s just fun.

I have been secretly enjoying your reviews.I just finished < HREF="http://www.librarything.com/work/book/40050176" REL="nofollow">Chimera<> and am in the middle of < HREF="http://www.librarything.com/work/book/39555038" REL="nofollow">Invisible Cities<>. I generally prefer to have a little more plot.

  9. HA! Honestly, just yesterday I thought that this exact idea would make a great meme… didn’t know it was already a ‘movement!’ (I apparently have no original thoughts anymore…)Anywho, I am currently reading “Love in the Time of Cholera,” although ‘sludging through’ would probably be a more accurate description. I am not feeling this book, whatsoever. I’m ridiculously bummed that my first book of the year is one that I’m not enjoying, but at least the last book of year for 2008 (“The Hunger Games”) was one that I was SO into!

  10. Hi! I think I have commented here occasionally, but I am mostly a lurker. I am currently reading a very dense book on sociology, “The Un-TV and the 10 Mph Car: Experiments in Personal Freedom and Everyday Life”, by Bernard McGrane, which is interesting but I can only take it in small chunks (being the self-reflective type I have already thought about many of the things he brings up, though). I’m also reading a short novel called “Wyoming Wind”, by Jon Chandler, which I choose entirely because of the title (having experienced the wyoming wind on a bicycle trip). It’s only moderately engaging.

  11. Chris: steal away. 😉 I’ll delurk over at your site. Jen: I haven’t heard of Knife (or if I have I don’t remember); I’ll have to look it up. And maybe someday I’ll be in a fluffy, silly mood and actually read Rumors. Abbot and Sarah: welcome. Thanks for delurking! (Sarah: I know too many Sarahs, so you may have commented before, and I just thought it was the other Sarah I know… even so, welcome! Thanks for commenting.)Dawn: I haven’t ever attempted Love in the Time of Cholera. Maybe I won’t?

  14. Oh, the temptation to resist the challenge. But, alas, here I am, finally. But I do think that I have managed to comment on your blog twice in the last several years (would you accept a once a year pledge?) Anyway, I currently have a fine due at the library, so have not been there to check out anything new. Right now I’m reading Tom Sawyer.

  15. I’m reading The Cabinet of Wonders by Marie Rutkoski, which is on the Cybils MG fantasy shortlist. It is… I guess I’m fascinated by the world and somewhat by the characters, but overall I’m not liking it as much as I thought I would and I can’t pinpoint why…

  16. I’m not quite delurking, but I’ll comment anyway. I’m reading “The Pickwick Papers” by Charles Dickens. It’s great when I can sit down and actually concentrate on it. Dickens is as hilarious as ever, and it’s interesting to see how he developed some of the story lines found here in some of his later works.

  19. I don’t think I lurk – anywhere – but I apparently starred this post in Google reader to remind myself to leave a comment and then also apparently, now to you, forgot to do so for quite a number of days. Hope you had a happy delurking week.
